Abstract

Ethical properties concern what ought to be, rather than what is, and therefore, they appear distinct from natural properties. Metaethics is the study of the foundation of ethics and normativity in general. In this talk, I will provide an overview of the major positions taken in the last century in metaethics. Broadly speaking, this field is divided between those who deny the existence of ethical properties independent of us and those who affirm the existence of a mind-independent ethical realm. Throughout the talk, I will discuss how these two camps have articulated their viewpoints in various ways and explore the significant challenges faced by each formulation.

چکیده:

ویژگی‌های اخلاقی درباره‌ی ’آنچه هست نیستند‘، بلکه در این باره هستند که ’چه باید بشود‘، و از این رو این ویژگی‌ها از ویژگی‌های جهان طبیعی متمایز به نظر می‌رسند. فرااخلاق به مطالعه‌ی بنیاد ‌اخلاق و ‌نرم‌ها می‌پردازد. در این سخنرانی'>سخنرانی، به مرور مواضع اصلی مطرح شده در طول قرن گذشته در فرااخلاق می‌پردازم. به صورت غیر‌دقیق، فلاسفه‌ی فرااخلاق معاصر را می‌توان به دو گروه تقسیم کرد: گروهی که

وجود ویژگی‌های اخلاقی مستقل از ما را انکار می‌کنند و گروهی که به وجود سپهر اخلاقی مستقل از ذهن باور دارند. در این سخنرانی، به بررسی صورت‌بندی‌های متفاوت از مواضع این دو گروه می‌پردازم

چالش‌های مهمی را که هر صورت‌بندی با آن مواجه است برمی‌شمارم.
